55: Fischli & Weiss Double Exposures

With the exception of the cows and illuminated orange night, these pictures are pretty creepy!
Adding a second layer to an image can completely change how the picture is read, whether the two pictures relate obviously or have no common theme they create a vibe and set the images against each other to tell a story. You can take an innocent photo and change the mood completely with the right opposing image.

54: Diane Arbus Contact Sheets

I like the way these negatives are laid out, Displaying them on contact sheets like this links them together and illustrates a story more than a single image would on its own.
This would be a good way to portray the statement I found talking about how dreams aren't fluent stories, they're separate bits of imagery that our heads try and piece together.
I could take photos or certain things and either steer it towards a story or leave it open for interpretation.

53: Digital Double Exposures

I haven't been able to get into the darkrooms for a while so I thought I would try making my 'dream-like' images digitally by layering the negatives and applying different overlay techniques.
I don't think it works anywhere near as well as doing it in the darkroom but the outcomes are still relatively interesting. This way I can chose features easier than I would be able to manually.

52: Flat-bed Scanning

I scanned in the negatives id found as 35mm colour negatives and this is how they came out! I like this effect on the pictures, black and white with a purple/green tint to them. If I scan in more negatives into the computer I'll definitely do this again and get more images like this.

51: Old Negatives

I found some old negatives in my draws from my first attempt at using a holga camera. At the time I didn't do anything with them because they weren't good photos and went away as a failed attempt. Luckily for me they work very well for my work now as a collection of random, vague photos.
I'd like to use these negatives in the darkroom with my other 120 film to create more dream-like photos.

50: How does you memory work? - Horizon

I watched a documentary on how memory works to see if it could inspire me to create some work or give me more information on anything I've looked at. As interesting as this was, unfortunately I didn't really get anything from it for my work.
One thing I found particularly interesting was:
When you start to remember a memory which was somewhat forgotten, you 're-record' the memory and your brain makes new connections. In doing this you can potentially change the memory without knowing and making memories that never existed.

49: Composite Portrait

This was my attempt at creating a composite portrait with three girls faces. I took the photos on a film camera and planned to do this in the darkroom but I hadn't lined them up well enough to do this so I made this digitally.
Weirdly the person in this photo looks like someone I know. I think this has worked well to create another persons appearance but would like to try it again with both more people and lining up the pictures well enough to create this in the darkroom.
