48: Francis Galton

Francis Galton created these composite portraits to try and understand whether there was a criminal 'type' and by combining criminal faces thought he may be able to find what the common appearance would be.
I'm interested in these composite photos as I once heard that you cant make up someone's face in your dreams, if you see someone you don't think you know, it's supposed to be someone you've seen and not realised you'd remembered them. I thought these composite portraits related to that theory and thought I would create my own composites to make this portraitist of people who don't exist.
